This old postcard, ca. 1909, was discovered in the historic postcard collection of the Georgetown & Scott County Museum. Titled, "Planting Tobacco in Kentucky," the image dates to a time when tractors and planters were only dreams. Though water-stained and creased, the card survives to tell a story about the lives of our ancestors, and the tools of their trade before industrialization. Other scenes from early Georgetown and Scott County are shown in the postcard images below. Most of the cards are postally used featuring stamps from the early 1900s. A special thanks to Museum director Andrew Green and volunteer Nancy Giles for allowing us to use these images on our website.
