Gosney, 67, who died of a heart attack at his home in Avant, Okla., Sunday afternoon, March 19 were held Wednesday, March 26/8?, at 2:30 at the Baptist Church in Barnsdall with the Rev. Frank Allen officiating. Mr. Gosney the son of C.H. and Melissa Tutt Gosney, was born at Grant Lick, KY., December 22, 1883 and grew to young manhood in Wolfe County. He was united in marriage to Miss Hattye Dyer Peterson at Batesville, Miss., Dec. 8, 1909. They went to Oklahoma to make their home and had lived there since with the exception of one year when they resided in Campton. Survivors are his wife, of Avant, Okla., two daughters, Mrs. Vernon Nedford of Oklahoma City and Mrs. Paul Valle of San Diego, California. Four sons: J.B. Gosney, Middle Texas; Everidge Gosney of Healton, Okla., Russell Gosney of Barnsday, Okla; nine grandchildren, three sisters; Mrs. Pearl Warden of Raymond, Washington, Mrs Sarah Wright of Oneida, Tenn., and Mrs. Mance? Lallathin of Ray Center. Also five brothers, Ben Gosney of Richmond, Calif., and W.H. Gosney of Newport, KY. A sister, Mrs. S.D. Cox of Wolfe County preceded him in death four months ago. He was a member of the Congretional Church.
