Ref: Preston Birch Hampton, James P. Hampton, Sarah Poindexter, etc. I am searching to find the father of James P. Hampton. James was born near Hampton Roads, VA 4/17/1787. He came to Woodford or Franklin Co. KY and married Sarah Poindexter in Woodford Co. in 1818. They later moved to Il. They had three children born in Franklin Co.: William H. (1821), John S. (1824) and Mary A. (1829). I believe James P Hampton also had a brother in the Woodford/Franklin Co. area named Samuel C. Hampton. Preston Birch Hampton (my Great, Great Grandfather)is a son of James P. but was born in Il.

I am desperately searching information on any PALMER families of Christian County, beginning with Isaac Palmer, a Revolutionary War veteran. He died in the County in 1834/8 along with his wife, Ann McAuley. His son Louis Davies Palmer should be found in the county (1781-1869) and common first names like Thomas, Nancy, John, George, could be some good clue. Hope to hear from someone soon. (Louis married Ann Tutt) The Palmers can also be found found in Woodford and Scott counties. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
