Seek ancestors, siblings, descendants of: John HANCOCK who married 1774 Louisa Co., VA/Spotsylvania Co., VA to Nancy Ann GRAVES. This family removed to Woodford, Franklin, & Fayette Cos., KY, before settling permanently in Butler Co., OH. Nancy was dau/o Thomas & Isabella (BARTLETT) GRAVES. If anyone has any HANCOCK marriage or related family person in their genealogy, I would be grateful for information. Have been researching HANCOCK for 25 years & have yet to find any siblings or ancestors for John HANCOCK. Louisa Co. & surrounding counties in VA were said to be "burned out" counties during the Civil War & many records were lost. Any help greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

CARLYLE/CROCKETT: Seeking information on the ancestors and descendants of revolutionary soldier George CARLYLE (1751-1827) and his wife Margaret CROCKETT (1770-1836) of Woodford County, KY. According to 'The History of Woodford County, Kentucky' by William E. Railey, George Carlyle was the son of John Carlyle and Sarah Fairfax of Alexandria, VA; but the only surviving son of this John Carlyle was killed in battle in 1782... so who were George's parents? The same reference shows that Margaret Crockett Carlyle was the daughter of Alexander CROCKETT and Margaret CAMPBELL, county unknown. I welcome any information about this family.
