I am looking for imformation a ROBERT or ROBERT S. CAMPBELL b. abt 1800, and I believe he was born in Scotland. I do not have much to go on except what I have been able to locate in several references. What I have found is this, he spent most of his life in Spencer County, KY. I found references to a ROBERT CAMPBELL on pg 322, 1830 census, again on pg 13 of the 1840 census and lastly on the 1850 census on pg 111, all of these were in reference to Spencer County. ROBERT married a JANE (ONAN) b.1806. they were married on May 12, 1825, location not known. I found this refeerence in "Kentucky: A History of the State. Battle, Perrin and Kniffin, 6th ed., 1887, Spencer Co. I also found information that ROBERT was the Guardian of ABRAM, WILLIAM, ELISHA AND CARSON ONAN, sons of a JOHN ONAN, first recorded account I found was dated 1826. Ialso know ROBERT died in Spencer Co. on 18 May 1859. His wife JANE (ONAN) CAMPBELL died on 11 Aug 1869. I also found a record of ROBERTS dea! th in "Spencer County KY Marriages & Vital Stats. The record lists ROBERTS death on the 13th of May 1859! and his place of Birth as Woodford! I believe this may be a reference to Woodford Co., KY and possibly there may have been some connection to Woodford Co., maybe this is where he was married or possibly where he came from before residing in Spencer Co. The last bit of info I have comes from the 1850 census, and it listed a SARAH CAMPBELL, age 65, from PA, and I believe this must be a relative, maybe and Aunt or possibly his mother. If anyone has information on ROBERT I would be very greatful if you can help me extend my CAMPBELL roots..
