Seek information on the Alexander McClure family who was in Woodford Co., from (at least) 1799 when he was named as executor in will of Thomas Ratliff, will was witnessed by Samuel McClure & Robert Elliott - Alexander was still there in 1830 census age listed as 60-70. Looking for my gggg grandparents, Seth RAMSEY (b. in Spencer KY abt. 1770) and Lucy HIATT (b. abt same time, possibly in VA). They were married 6 Feb 1789 in Lincoln, VA, and had the following children, all born in Woodford-  Enos 1790, Nancy 1792, Catherine 1794, Sarah "Sally" 1775, Mary "Polly" 1798, Seth 1803, Silas Marion 1806, Joseph 1808, and Martha 1810. My line Nancy, married Frances NORVELL (b. 1792) in Woodford on 4 Apr 1815. Their children were all born in Woodford - Enos 1790, Nancy 1792, Catherine 1794, Sarah "Sally" 9 Sep 1775, Mary "Polly" 1798, Seth 1803, Silas Marion 1806, Joseph 1808, and Martha 1810. I am looking for ancestors of Frances NORVELL and Seth RAMSEY. Lucy HIATT's parents were William HIATT and Tabitha NOEL. Tabitha's parents were Joseph NOEL and Mary CAVE. I am searching for any information on James and John FINNIE/FINNEY, born 1740-1750 in Virginia. The were in Fayette County, Kentucky by 1785 and lived in Woodford County until 1811. I have not been able to find any record of land purchase for them in this area. James and John FINNIE came to Kentucky from Culpeper County, Virginia. Thanks for any help you can offer!

My Grandmother, Helen Gaines, was a first cousin of Dedman's who were originally from Woodford Co., KY. As I understand it, the original Dedman home place is still being lived in near Versailles, KY on a road called Old Pike or Old Military Pike Rd. I understood that they moved from Woodford Co. to near Plattsburg, Clinton Co., Missouri in the 1840s. I have no dates, but this is what I have, Curtis Dedman married Mary Trice, who was my Grandmother's aunt, abt 1900 in Clinton Co., MO and had the following children; Rebeca Trice Mildred Scarce Mary Ellen There are two very brief mentions of Dedman's in a book that I have about Woodford Co. called Forks of Elkhorn Church by Ermina Jett Darnell published by Genealogical Publishing Co of Baltimore, MD. One entry indicates that a Samuel Dedman was in an area called Clear Creek in June of 1788. Gaines Hillix.

I am trying to find the parents of Willam Ward me Lula Combs. I believe William's father was Thadadus Ward s/o of Isaac Jefferson Ward of the civil war. Wm & Lula were in the Hazard, KY area in the 40's they divorced and some of the younger children were put in an orphans home, John Michael Ward, b Mar, 1940 and a sister Drew Jo (Dru Jo), the other children were William, Molly, Paul, and there may have been others. William Lambert THOMPSON m. Emily DARNELL DEBORD, widow of William DEBORD of Pulaski Co., 1850,his 2nd marriage too. He had been resideing in Richmond, before that Lexington, but after the marriage, he dissappeared. I believe that the William L. Thompson that is in Woodford Co., Versaie, in 1860 is he; but I need confirmation. That was the year, many people world wide died of Cholera and that is what his 1st wife died of. But he seemed to favor living close to Lexington. All of the William Lambert Thompsons went by Lambert Thompson or even Lambert Thomas.
