Searching for others researching ALBERT GALLATIN TALBOTT and his wives: #1 ELIZABETH CALDWELL (d/o WILLIAM CALDWELL) married 12 Jan 1831 Jessamine County, Ky., and #2 MRS. ELIZABETH TALBOT (d/o JUDGE OWSLEY and widow of CHARLES HENRY TALBOT) married 6 Nov. 1828 Jessamine County, Ky. ALBERT GALLATIN TALBOTT was born 4 April 1808, Bourbon County, Kentucky; and died 1887, buried Danville, Boyle County, Kentucky. ALBERT GALLATIN TALBOTT and ELIZABETH CALDWELL had the following children: MARY B. TALBOTT (b1833); PETER M. TALBOTT (b1834); WILLIAM PRESLEY TALBOTT (b1835)who married MARY GRAVES (d/o JOSEPH GRAVES and MARGARET A. HAYES) of Fayette County, Kentucky; ELIZA O. TALBOTT (b1836); and Albert G. Talbott (b1837). There surely is a connection with PRESLEY TALBOTT whose daughter, CAROLINE E. TALBOTT, married ERASMUS BOYLE OWSLEY in Jessamine County, Kentucky on 11 October 1831. Descendents of WILLIAM PRESLEY TALBOT and MARY GRAVES moved to Kansas by late 1800s. There is a very close association with the BENJAMIN BERRY (b1755-d1838) family of Versailles, Woodford County, Kentucky. Other Woodford County surnames linked with this BENJAMIN BERRY are: REDD / READ, ALLEN, BLANTON, and WARE. Debbie McArdle

I have been researching my Burton family line. I have reason to believe that my g.g.g.grandfather James Burton, son of William Burton and Elizabeth Kissee, married a Caty or Catherine Baker, May 19,1803. I believe shortly after that they may have moved to Woodford County. If anyone has any knowledge of this would they please let me know. I have a great deal of information on their son Joseph and his descendants which I'm more than willing to share. Thank you --Robert E. Burton, Jr..

I was looking at KY Marriages in Ancestory.COM and came accross some marriages I hadn't seen before. I sure hope someone will be able to help me out. They showed a marriage between a Rubin Smithey and Susan Bumly on 31 Jul 1801 in Woodford CO., KY. I'm a descendant of a Reuben Smithey born abt. 1759 in Caroline CO., VA, parents unknown. He moved to Woodford CO., KY in the late 1780's, Wife unknown. We presume he passed away in Woodford CO. He had one known son Richard Smithey born 1784. Would anyone happen to have a copy of this marriage bond to see if this is the same Reuben? They showed a marriage between a Samuel Smithey and Annah Williams on Dec 1, 1808 in Woodford CO., KY. Does anyone know who his parents were and how long he stayed in the area. Does anyone have a copy of this bond? I sure appreciate any assistance.
