Brenham, Washington County, Texas is named in honor of Dr. Richard Fox Brenham who was born near Frankfort in Woodford County, Kentucky in 1810. His parents were Robert Brenham and Mary M. Fox. Dr. Brenham came to Texas in 1836. He was killed in Mier, Mexico on 11 February, 1843. The community of Hickory Point was re-named in his honor shortly after his death. The Brenham Heritage Museum is trying to gather information pertinent to Dr. Brenham, including his date of birth. If anyone out there has any information, please contact me. I am looking for information on the family of Elizabeth Rose JONES. She and her husband Heinrich SCHAUSS lived in Mortonsville, Woodford Co.,KY. Heinrich died Sept.26,1825 in Mortonsville. Elizabeth Rose died March 5,1832 in Mortonsville. They had a son named Thomas Jones SHOUSE.(last name changed to an american spelling) Born: Dec. 1779 in Woodford Co.,KY. My ancestor Joseph N. Moss was born in Woodford County, KY January 1, 1818. Parents were James and Phebe (Watkins) Moss. Only information on parents is that both were born in Virginia. If anyone can provide additional information I would be grateful. Joy Miller.

Seeking descendants of LUKE HILTON and MARGARET HILTON (nee WILSON) originally of MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD. According to legend, LUKE HILTON and MR. WILLETT? started for Kentucky from Maryland, and settled at "Limestone" in WOODFORD COUNTY, KY in 1796. LUKE HILTON died in WOODFORD COUNTY in 1810 and was survived by wife MARGARET. Searching for information re Gormley brothers who imigrated from Derry, Ireland abt. 1852 and settled in Woodford Co. My ancestor, Thomas Gormley, arrived in New Orleans on 31 Dec 1852. He served with Morgan's Raiders in the KY militia during the Civil War. He m. Alice Haney in Lexington, KY on 14 Jun 1873. They later migrated to Atchison, KS where they died. Thomas Gormley d. 1 Feb 1917 and is buried in St. Louis Cem., Eden, KS. I am trying to document parents of the brothers: Thomas, Patrick, Charles and Michael. I note that Patrick d. 18 Jan 1918 in Woodford, KY. Would love to have someone do a lookup on his obit. It is supposedly listed in the Jessamine Journal (I do not know what that is). Looking for information on the wife, parents, and children of Peter ALEXANDER, born VA 1750s. He was a Rev. War pensioner in Woodford Co., KY as of 1810, and according to documentation, was still alive at 83 in 1840 in Woodford County. I'm trying to determine whether he was the son of Robert Alexander, the founder of the Augusta Academy (later Washington and Lee University)and the nephew of Archibald Alexander. Or if my Peter is not the son of the Robert Alexander noted above, who was his father? According to my records, Peter's son, Willis (William?) was born in Woodford County abt. 1788 and Willis's son, Willis (William?) was born in Jefferson Co./Louisville abt. 1826. The latter Willis married Emma Pool in 1857 in Louisville. Does anyone have further information about my Peter Alexander in Woodford County?.

Searching for information on Robert and Ann BLACK, believed to be parents of Sarah Elizabeth BLACK who married James SHIELDS in Woodford County in 1819. Robert signed the marriage bond. The BLACKs lived in Woodford Co but were buried in Jessamine Co Ebenezer Church. Robert died in 1837 and Ann died in 1823. Any help on this family will be greatly appreciated.

Looking for the parents of Martha 'Patsy' Bartlett who m. Simon Hancock in 1796 in Woodford Co., Ky. They moved to Henry Co., Ky and had several children, two of which (daughters), married into the Goode family. It is likely that her father was Capt. Thos.
