Does any one have a JOHN USSELTON in their line? His w. was Elizabeth and they had dtrs. SALLY, NANCY, ELIZABETH & POLLY USSELTON, all mentioned in his 1814 will. POLLY USSELTON (might be Mary "Polly" as was common) m. 28 Nov 1803 in Woodford Co. LAWSON LYONS. They had 2 dtrs, (1)ELIZABETH LYONS m. JOHN DAVID MCGUIRE on 29 June 1825, Woodford Co. KY. (2) LUCY ANN LYONS m. JEFFERSON RIDDLE on 7 Mar 1831, Woodford Co. The will also mentions grandson WILLIAM LYONS. We have found a WILLIAM LYONS who m. CATHARINE EDDING 22 Dec 1829 in Woodford Co. but have not made a connection between this WILLIAM and the LYONS/USSELTON families. Any help would be appreciated.Thank you!

Looking for information on the BUCKLEY name in Woodford County in the early 1800's. William was a preacher in the county from 1805-1813. Jeremiah owned "Buckley's Ferry" during the same period. Also in the area was a Samuel and a Thomas. Presently in the county is "Buckley Wildlife Sanctuary". Can anyone tell me how and when the Sanctuary got its name? I believe it was named after a Clyde Buckley, but do not know when. Another name in the area at the time is WEBB. Any information on the above names would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I am looking for any information at all about the MCMINIMY family in Woodford Co. Although the published marriage records in Spencer Co. say Thomas Jefferson DALE married (10 Sep 1829) a Sarah McKay, I've found no evidence of such a person. An early Dale researcher has her name as Sarah MCMINIMY. I do find a McMinimy in an 1870 Woodford census and a McMinimy served in the Civil War from KY. An Ancestral File indicates a Richard McMinimy, b. abt 1814, KY, was married to Polly Booth 11 Aug 1836 in Woodford. This is a very rare surname but very little information is available. I would appreciate ANY information about McMinimys in KY..

Searching for parents of David BERRYHILL POSEY. A Lloyd Posey was a witness to a will of Major John Lee in 1802 in Woodford Co., KY. Think perhaps Berryhill was David's mother's maiden name. Does anyone know if there is a Posey Berryhill marriage in that area. We have tried to connect him to Gen. Thomas Lloyd Posey's family. Any information would be appreciated. Maj. Lee's son migrated to Jefferson Co., MS. David B. Posey married an Elizabeth Stampley from Jefferson Co., MS in Catahoula Parish, La. There was also an Andrew Posey in Catahoula Parish in 1826. David and Elizabeth's children were Daniel T., Pharabe (fem.) and Laura. He died in 1850 in Franklin Pr., LA., and he was born in Ga. about 1805 or 1806..

My grgrgr-grandfather Stephen HAMPTON purchased land in Orange County Indiana in 1817. He listed as his residence Woodford County Kentucky at time of purchase. In 1826 his son William married Elizabeth BURGESS in Harrison County Kentucky. Stephen also had sons Jesse & John. Jesse & William were named administrators of Stephens estate. Prior to his death (before 1830) by bill of sale household items were sold to Polly HAMPTON & distilling equipment and farm items sold to son Jesse. Son John is listed in later census as insane. Jesse is his guardian until he dies...then a lawyer is guardian. After his death Elizabeth HAMPTON is head of household. When Elizabeth dies leaves her estate to heirs of her body, children of her daughter Eliza(Hampton)PERRIGO. Can someone tell me if this is the same Stephen HAMPTON that is son of Andrew HAMPTON & Mary FAULKNER/FAULCONER. I believe Stephen was married twice. First wife may have been Polly DUNN and second wife Elizabeth FICKLIN (m in Jessi! mine County Kentucky). Does anyone connect with Stephen HAMPTON the distiller?
