In 1954 the society began to publish the research being done and shared by its members through publication of the The Louisiana Genealogical Register.
The Register evolved into a 100 page quarterly journal that was issued in March, June, September and December.
Beginning in 2009, The Register will be published twice per year.
Each issue of The Register contains a wide-ranging collection of Louisiana records, historical and genealogical articles, lineages and ancestor charts, Bible records, cemetery records, "how-to" suggestions, notes on useful Web sites, book reviews, and queries. Approved lineages from the First Families of Louisiana are also published. The Register is mailed to nearly every state in the Union and several foreign countries, and more than 110 libraries nationwide subscribe to it.
We invite our members and readers to submit articles for publication, both of a genealogical and historical nature. Articles should be send to the Editor.
