  About Us

The Genie is published quarterly.  Members receive four issues each year.  All material published in The Genie is compiled and contributed by the members.  The Ark-La-Tex Genealogical Association exchanges The Genie with periodicals published by other genealogical organizations.

BOOK REVIEWS:  Reviews of books of genealogical interest are published in The Genie when the books are donated by the publisher or author.  These books are then made available to the public through the Broadmoor Branch Genealogy Department of the Shreve Memorial Library, as is all other genealogical material of the Ark-La-Tex Genealogical Association.

QUERIES ARE FREE:  They should be 70 words or less and must be typed or plainly printed. Queries should include as much relevant information as possible, i.e. county or parish, time era, etc.

OTHER INFORMATION: Short family history narratives, sketches and articles can be considered for publishing in the Genie, particularly if there is an Ark-La-Tex connection. We also welcome local town and church histories.  Please include footnotes or sources, as appropriate.  All material is subject to edit. Note:  Any prior copyrights must be protected.

Please mail typed queries or other information to: Ark-La-Tex Genealogical Association, P. O. Box 4463, Shreveport LA  71134

The Genie is indexed in the Periodical Source Index (PERSI).
