Carolyn Taylor William Vincent born about 1799/1800, GA per 1850 census, LA per the 1860 census. His wife was Charlotte and in the 1850 census there were children named Josiah, Rebecca and Charlott II. I believe this is the same William Vincent whose obit was in the Ascension Parish Paper - he died of cholera in 1866 at age 68. I beleive he might have been the only full sibling of my ancestor James Allen Vincent, there were several half brothers and sisters. I would like to hear from anyone who knows anything about this family. Carolyn Taylor
Margie I am trying to find the family of Albert Babin who married Mary Cecilia Duplessis on 27 Jan. 1887 in Ascension Parish. His wit's to the marriage were A.B. Booth, W.P. Dixon and S.H. Rheams. In the 1880 Ascension Parish Census, there is an Albert Babin living with the Houston Rheams family and in the 1890 Ascension Parish Census, Houston is listed as S. Houston so I persume he is the S.H. Rheams that is a wit. By 1890 Albert is already deceased and my Grandfather is only 2 years old. In the 1870 East Baton Rouge Parish Census, there is a Napoleon Babbin listed with 3 children, Dommatile 18, Female - White, Albert 10, Male White, and Adile 12, Female White. Napoleon is listed as 50 years old. In the Baton Rouge Diocese Books, I can find Albert in Vol. 9, and it list birth as 20 Feb. 1859 with parents as Napoleon Babin and Virginie Hebert. Volume 6, list Domitille Alexine Babin, parents Gregoire Nap. Babin and Marie Virginie Hebert and her birth as 6 Aug. 1846. In Vol. 8, Odile Genevieve Babin with the same parent's and her birth as 3 June 1855 and then in Volume 10, Jean Charles Babin with the same parent's also and his birth as 4 Dec. 1862. There is an Odile Babin that married Leon Duplessis and they names one of their son's, Leon Napoleon Duplessis. If there is anyone that can help me with this, I would appreciate it so much. I have been trying to find the right Albert Babin since I was 15 years old and I am now 52. That's a long time to be up against a brick wall. Thank You in advance. Margie
