Archie Clark Cemetery
Near Starks, La

The cemetery isn't very large and has about 40 graves with markers of some kind. To visit this cemetery, turn east on
Gene Nelson Road from LA 109. Just before it makes the turn to the north, there will be a road turning to the south ...
there is a small sign indicating "Cemetery" ... this will take you the short distance to Archie Clark Cemetery on the left
(or east) side of the road.

Historical note: This cemetery is named after Archibald "Archie" Clark, a son of John Harvey and Rachel (Drake) Clark Sr who started the community known as Clark Settlement in Calcasieu (now Beauregard) Parish northeast of Starks, LA a
few years after the Civil War. It is one of three Clark cemeteries in this community, the others being the Babe Clark and Dick Clark cemeteries.
