BOOKS & Other Useful Parish Information
Where in our research would we be without books? Whether
it be Parish or County, at some time or
another in genealogy research, you are going to have to go to
the library to look at one or a thousand, order one, ask someone to do a look
up in one, check at the county courthouse, and come into contact with BOOKS. I
am listing here books that I have come across that may be helpful in your search..........if
you know of other books that have helped in your searching in this or surrounding
Parishes, let me know, and I will post them here also.

History of Beauregard Parish --- This book is still available.
The cost is $60.00 plus postage. Check with
the City Hall in DeRidder.
DeRidder LA The First Hundred Years 1903 - 2003

of the commemorative book, "DeRidder, Louisiana - The first 100 years,
1903-2003," which was published in conjunction with DeRidder's recent centennial
celebration, are available at DeRidder City Hall.
The books, which were compiled by local historian Joe Warren, are priced at
$20 each.
The 410-page book contains nearly 1,000 photos of events, places and people
involved in DeRidder's history.
Cole Footprints
book (History of the Cole Family from Stephen (Steven) Cole and his wife Elizabeth
1660 to the Coles migration to Mississippi and St. Landry, Calcasieu, Beauregard,
and Allen Parishes, is now being republished. Price is $25.00.
