Tribute of Respect to the memory of:
Mrs. Julia McDonald
by the Lady's Friend Council, of the
United Friends of Temperance
Whereas, it has pleased Almighty God to call our beloved sister, Mrs Julia McDonald, from among the members of our
council, and from her labors and duties on earth, to an eternal home and rest in heavenly fashion, prepared for the good
and faithful, - be it resolved unanimously by the Lady's Friend
Council of the United Friends of Temperance:
1. That our sister was a useful and zealous member of our council, and her good
and gentle influence was exerted for the
reformation and elevation of the weak fallen and
unfortunate.
2. That we feel deeply grieved, in being deprived of her presence
at our temperance meetings, and of her assistance in our
earnest and strenuous struggle in the great temperance
cause.
3. That we sympathize with her friends and relations in their
sorrow, and extend to her husband, Dr D S McDonald our
valuable and efficient brother, our sincere condolences.
4. That as a token of respect to her memory the members of our council wear the usual badge of mourning, thirty days.
5. That a copy of these resolutions be sent to the Catahoula News Publication.
