I am looking for BREWER and EDMONDSON information in Grant Parish. I would like to contact the pastor or someone affiliated with Friendship Baptist Church Cemetary in Fishville, LA. I have written to a Pollock address for Friendship Cematary but have received no responce nor have I received the letter in return mail. I have many relatives buried in this cemetary and am trying to find out if someone has done a listing of this one. I am in Wyoming so it is hard for me to do research in LA. Thanks.

Who was Alexander Brock's first wife? She bore him the following children in Alabama: James Watson BROCK, born about 1837; Julia Ann Rebecca BROCK, born 1838, married David Fleming HILBUN; and Mary F. BROCK, born about 1845. All eventually made their homes in Winn and Grant Parishes [Montgomery and Atlanta]. Julia and David HILBUN became the parents of Jessie HILBUN, who married Carroll C. WILSON (my grandfather). Alexander BROCK married a second time on December 5, 1849 in Ouachita Parish to Matilda ROGERS. Matilda bore the following children: William A.Jackson BROCK, born about 1856; Georgana S. BROCK, born about 1857; Susanah BROCK, born about 1859; James Homer M. BROCK, born about 1862; Robert BROCK, born about 1867; and Emma BROCK, born about 1869. I would like to exchange information with anyone knowing this family's history. Billy R. WILSON, 11048 Reading Road, Jacksonville, FL 32257

THIGPEN, BRATTON, HODNETT Recently, I saw in some Grant Parish Obits, the name of Rev. Arlie BRATTON as the officiating minister. He is the son of William BRATTON, Jr. and Nettie (last name not known)and brother of Rosy BRATTON. William, Jr. was the son of William BRATTON and Amanda THIGPEN (She is related to the RISER family as well.) If anyone has info on this person who would be a cousin twice removed from me, I would appreciate it.

I am a descendant of Jackson VanBuren COOPER, b. 1841, d. 1910, and Mary Jane SMITH, b. 1847, d. 1910, both listed on the Winn Parish Census of 1870. Children listed in their household are Ada Fedella, Pricilla, and Rosella (Olive Rosella COOPER, my g grandmother). I believe they later had a son named Andrew. Many members of the family are buried at Dry Prong, Grant Parish, where they resided. I believe Jackson V. COOPER 'S brother may have been an S. D. COOPER, b. 1843, and also listed on the Census of 1870. Please contact me if you have any information on the COOPER family of Winn and Grant Parishes. In addition, if anyone has a Mary Jane SMITH in their SMITH family materials, let me know.
