- Photographic History
of Madison Parish Available
-
Arcadia Publishing Company’s Images of America series now includes a photographic history of Madison Parish. Released on April 15, 2003 this book includes historical data, drawings, graphs, maps and photos of the Madison Parish area relative to the years 1800-1927. The book is divided into five chapters that document the Early 1800’s, Civil War, Reconstruction, Early 1900’s and 1927 flood.
The book is available at several locations in Tallulah, including Madison Historical Society’s Hermione Museum, as well as at major bookstores such as Barnes and Noble, Borders, Waldenbooks and Books-A-Million. It is also available online at Amazon.com, Barnes and Noble, Arcadia Publishing and others.

- Silver Cross and Memorial Park — Added 150 new tombstone photos. Almost complete
listing of birth & death dates, with many tombstone photos and links
to obituaries & biographies.
November 9, 2009 - Census — 1810 through 1860 census indexes are now directly
hyperlinked to the census images. Now it is no longer necessary to go
first to the index to find an image number and then to the image itself.
