All rights reserved. ************************************************ Nan Sevier McNeel - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Vicksburg Evening Post, January 4, 1968 Mrs. Nan McNeel Dies, Services Set Wednesday TALLULAH-Mrs. Nan Sevier McNeel member of a well-known Madison Parish family died at a Vicksburg hospital today after a long illness. A native of Madison Parish, Mrs. McNeel had lived here most of her life. She lived for a while also in the Philippines and in Mexico. Active in civic organizations, she was former regent of the Tallulah chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, and had held offices in the women's organization of the Presbyterian Church, The American Legion Auxiliary and the Good Earth Garden Club. She was a member of the Tallulah Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her husband, Col. Travis McNeel: three brothers, Mayor W. P. Sevier, Jr., James D. Sevier and Barton Sevier of Tallulah; three sisters, Mrs. W. W. Ziegler, and Mrs. E. E. Warrick of Tallulah and Mrs. Dan Donald of Jennings, La. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Tallulah Presbyterian Church, with the Rev Lyndon Brown of officiating. Burial will be in Silver Cross Cemetery with Crothers Funeral Home in charge.
