ROSIE RICHARDSON - Madison Parish, Louisiana

 

ROSIE RICHARDSON May 23, 1942 - Sept. 6, 2009. Rosie Richardson was born May 23, 1942, in Tallulah, La., to Lillie Mae and John D. Johnson, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Kathleen Jervis; and two grandsons.

 She met and married her late husband, Donald Richardson, Sept. 15, 1957. In 1961, they moved to Las Vegas, where they started a new life. To them, nine children were born. Rosie leaves to cherish her memory five daughters, Debra Edie (David), Linda Richardson, Mary Gholston, Brenda Jackson (Raymond) and Killett Richardson; three sons, Donald Richardson Jr., Dana Richardson (Sandy) and Ronnie Richardson; 12 sisters and brothers, Velma Doris, Delores, Ethel, Josephine, Otistein, Irma, Jean, Louise, Latonya, Curtis, David and Dewayne, all of Las Vegas, Kimberly Johnson of Berkeley, Calif., and Barbara J. Connors of St. Joseph, La.; 29 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.

Visitation will be 2-6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 13, at Thomas and Jones Funeral Home, 310 Foremaster Lane. Service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 14, at St. John Missionary Baptist Church, 2150 Martin Luther King Blvd. Burial will follow at Davis Memorial Park, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.
