Albert V. Sevier Dies In Tallulah; Services Today

TALLULAH, La - Funeral services were held this morning at 10 o'clock at the First Baptist 
Church for Albert V. Sevier, 75, who died Saturday night at the Madison Parish Hospital 
following a brief illness. Rev Ray Robbins, assisted by Rev. Lyndon Brown officiated with 
burial in Silver Cross Cemetery under the direction of Crothers Funeral Home.

Mr. Sevier was a lifelong resident of Madison Parish and a prominent planter. He owned and 
operated Evergreen Plantation south of Tallulah. He was a member of the Baptist Church and 
had served on the board of deacons. A graduate of Auburn University, Auburn, Ala., he was a 
veteran of World War I, a member of the American Legion, the Masonic Lodge, member of the 
board of directors of Tallulah State Bank, former president of Tallulah Finance Company and 
was for many years a member of the County Commission for ASC.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ethel Sevier; one son, Malcolm Sevier of Tallulah; one 
daughter, Mrs. Milton J. Womack of Baton Rouge; one sister, Mrs. Richard Burton, Tucson, 
Ariz.; and six grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Henry Sevier Jr., Andrew Sevier, Jr., Howard Sevier, Warren Sevier, Jim 
Folk and Jack Folk. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Keystone Sunday School class.

The family requests that memorials be sent to the Heart Fund.
