Oct. 17. John Vertner Sevier, age 60, a resident of Madison Parish for many years died at his home here Saturday night at ten o'clock after a long illness. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Alice Peterkin Sevier, three daughters, Mrs. Mason Spencer and Miss Vertner Sevier, of Tallulah and Mrs. Charles A. Dixon of Chestnut Hills, Pa., and a son John V. Sevier of Tallulah. Two brothers, W. P. Sevier of Tallulah and J. D. Sevier of Gulfport, Miss. and two sisters, Mrs. Ophelia S. Nicols of Tallulah and Mrs. Laura S. Herring of Innis also survive. The funeral took place from the family home Sunday afternoon, the Rev. David E. Holt, rector of Trinity Episcopal Church here officiated. Internment followed in Silver Cross Cemetery.
