Roy T. Whitaker, 65, of Pineville passed from this life on Saturday, December 8, 2012. Services celebrating the life of Roy T. Whitaker will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, December 10, 2012 at the chapel of Griffin Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Pastor Keith Dickens officiating. Burial will follow at Alexandria Memorial Gardens, Woodworth. Visitation will be Sunday, December 9, 2012 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana from 5:00 to 8:00 PM.

He was born on November 22, 1947 in Tallulah, LA. He was a graduate of Tallulah High School, class of 1966. Back in the day, he worked as a DJ known as Roy West, and loved to announce the Tallulah High School football games. He worked a number of years in sales at Lowe's before retiring. He was a very committed member of Heart of Worship Church, in Pineville.

He was preceded in death by his parents Bill and Audrey Whitaker, sister, Edna Whitaker Fondren, and special friend Sue Michiels. He was a "Simple Kind of Man" with an unending love for his family, fishing, and football.

He is survived by his daughters, Missy Coffman and husband DeWayne, Nikki Brister and husband Jeff. Grandchildren: Kasey Brister, Jessica Wolf, Kaylee Brister, and Jacob Coffman, the mother of his children Martha Evans, all of Pineville. As well as his niece, Doris Stevens and husband Pat of Mississippi.

Pallbearers will be Spencer Brister, Mark Parker, Jack Drinkwater, Dalton Street, Clay Brister, and Dennis Brister. Honary pallbearers: Jacob Coffman, Kasey Brister.
