moved to St. Tammany Parish 1828 , where she died 2 Jan. 1863. Most likely,
Jefferson Page and Whitson Hays Page were her brothers, and possibly Nathan,
Allen, Andrew Jackson, William, and Leonard. There is a close relationship
between the St. Tammany Parish Pages and the Jones County, MS Pages. Sophia's
mother d. 22 Sept 1858 in St. Tammany Parish. There were two Elizabeth Pages

is my ancestress. One Elizabeth was b. 1780 in NC and was living with Martha
PHILLIPS, a widow born in GA in 1805, perhaps a sister to Sophia. This Martha
Phillips was closely related to Hezekiah Wilson Page of Jones Co., MS. The
other Elizabeth was b. 1770 in NC, and was living with Andrew Page, James
Page, and John SEALS, all of whom were the age to be grandchildren. This Elizabeth

and Mary Hellen Strain. Ellen RAY was from Ireland. We were under the( mistaken
?) opinion for years that our greatgrandparents were John STRAIN and (---?---)
DeCoursey. The story being that John STRAIN was the master of a ship that
transported immigrants to the US (New Orleans) and that (--?--) DeCoursey
was a passnger from France whom he married, even to the fact that she walked
with a limp. I am satisfied that both John STRAIN's are my ascedants but where
(--?--) DeCoursey fits in is a question, my guess is that she is my GrGrgrandmother,

( Designating John as "BOY" makes me thing he was about 14 / 15 years of age
making him born about 1800). As you are no doubt aware the final battle of
the war of 1812 was The Battle of New Orleans 1-8-1815 which in my opinion
brought John STRAIN to the New Orleans area if in fact he had not come from
there previously. My guess is that this John STRAIN married DeCOURSEY and
was possibly the parent of the John STRAIN married to Ellen RAY. Any help
would be appreciated. Trying to locate the exact death date and cemetery for Science Fiction writer,

married to Alma Davenport. Any information is greatly appreciated. My name is Penny Stewart, mailto:penkap1@home.com On the 1812 St. Tammany tax list is Francois PECON or PICHON, 1m, 1f,

Nathan BLACKWELL of Washington Parish, says she was Mary PICAFELD and married
Nathan in 1811 in St. Tammany. This is not in St. Tammany marriage records.
It is possible, even likely, that the name on the pension application was
not spelled correctly. I can't find any PICAFELD in St. Tammany or Washington,
in fact, have never seen it in any record or index. Could this PECON be
my PICAFELD? And what happened to this PECON family? In Pike Co in 1820
there is a Frances PETETFILLS, and I've found no other records on this family.
Is this possibly part of the same family? Spelling variations on French

Gretchen Ryan. Searching for information on Jules BRADY living in St. Tammany Parish,

man that was born in Paris, France, moved to the US in the early 1840s and
settled in Summerfield, Dallas CO., Alabama. He and his first wife Albine
had seven children. Jules enlisted in the Civil War in 1861, and after going
off to war, I suspect he deserted his family and settled in LA and started
a new family. When Jules BRADY was living in Paris he was a musician. After
settling in Alabama he was a teacher and I have information that he also
was a teacher in LA. If anyone can find a copy of the 1880 census listing

My g. grandfather, Carroll M. Sanders, was born in 1862; he and his siblings
are living in the household of Wm. & Minerva Perkins in Calcasieu Parish
by 1870. I'm assuming Celia Morgan m. to Wm. Sanders died between 1862-1870.
There were Morgans that moved to Amite Co., Ms. by the early 19th century
or earlier. Some of their descendants migrated to East Feliciana Parish.
I found this in the East Feliciana Parish, La. Original Conveyances V. 3,
Bk 1 dated 23 Jan, 1828: Prissella Richardson to her gc Celia Morgan, Wm.
Field Morgan, & Mary Jane Morgan c of John Morgan & Corbi Morgan. I believe

I'm searching for her parents. Some of the Morgans went to East Feliciana
from Ky. and some from Ms. who were from N.C. There are also some Morgans
on the 1852 St. Tammany Parish Mortgage Index. I'd appreciate any help.

My husband's family came to Texas in the early 1830s. They came from Louisiana.
My husband's great great grandfather was William N. Barker wife Alitia Humble
in Oachita Par.. His father was Britton Barker wife Celia Watts. Brittons
brothers were Burrel, Samuel, Eldred/Eldrid, William, Edmund, Eli etc I
do not know them all. Do you see any connection... Seems their mother was
Isabell or Isabella Barker widow who married a Samuel Stout in abotu 1794
seems there was a witness name Guiermo Barker. They all seemed to be in
Felicana Par., St Tammany Par and Oach. Par. Also Francis Marion Brown also
came to Texas in early 1830's with his mother I believe. He married Rebecca
Parker. Her father Jesse Parker also came in from Louisiana, he had married

Elizabeth Barker... Jesse had been married before and has 12 children by
first wife, Sarah (Wiley?). I believe Jesse was in Texas by 1828. Does anyone
have information concerning these families? We are in the process of purchasing some property in Folsom. There is a
very run down cemetery on the property. It looks to only have about 4 or
5 tombs there. Only 3 of the headstones are readable. I found out that the
name of the cemetery is the Desmond Cemetery. The last info written about
it was in 1976 by Doris Holden. She states that there are at lest 10-12
graves there. Are you familiar with how I may be able to obtain old photos
of the cemetery? I 'm enclosing pics of the 3 stones that have wording on
them. There is also a cement cross still up but no words on it. I've also
included a photo I took of the cemetery last week. It is smack center of
the shot. It seems to be contained in the circle of trees. That is why I'm
curious about the # of people buried there. There is only room for about
5 or 6 graves within the tree circle. I'm sure the trees were planted after
the cemetery was last used for burial. They don't look too old. We are interested
in finding out all we can about this family. Can you help? Thank You. My name is Caroline Ard Guidry and I am looking for information on my
grandmother's family. Her name was Eliza Carlisle Anthony Ard. Her siblings

Tammany Parish, New Orleans in 1859 when his daughter - Aurelia Watkinson
married Achille Chiapella. I have found Charles on the 1830 census of St.
Tammany and as a result believe him to have been born between 1800 and 1810.
He was born in England. Looking for any information on his wife - who's name
is unreadable on the marriage documents - looks like F Flit? Sue sue@brucehq.com
----------- I'm searching for information on Robert Wymer and his family. He lived
in St. Tammary from 1926 until his death in 1944. Robert was born about
1890 in Stark County OH. He died August 3, 1944 in New Orleans. I appreciate
any information I can get. Return to St. Tammany Parish Home Page

My ancestor, Alexander GILLESPIE, a Rev. War veteran born about 1743, moved
from Jackson Co., GA to St. Tammany Parish about 1812/1813. He claimed a section
of land in St. Tammany in 1819; it was awarded in 1824 by which time he had
sold his claim and moved to Copiah Co., MS. The land was in Washington Parish
after 1819 and Alexander was in Washington on the 1820 Census.
I am trying to identify possible children of Alexander GILLESPIE. Any help
is appreciated. Bob

SEILER
Carolyn Tregre

3/4/04/
Their children are:
Mary Virginia (Mrs. Charles H. Kellum)
Emma Camille Seiler --died in infancy
Cornelius Theodore Seiler
Catherine Seiler
Anna Alberta Seiler--never married
Silome Loretta Seiler--never married
I am particularly interested in Mary Virginia Kellum and Catherine Seiler.
I have not been able to locate anything on Catherine--no marriage, no death.
This family moved to St. Tam. from New Orleans. Several are buried in family
tomb in Cypress Grove. Research on the Seilers shows that there are several
families with this surname in St. Tammany. If anyone knows anything of Catherine
or Mary Virginia Kellum, please email me. puddintregre@msn.com

Both are listed in SSDI as having a last known address of Slidell, St. Tammany
Parish, LA.
I am researching the Gilhousen Family History and Genealogy, and would appreciate
hearing from any living relatives, or anyone who might provide assistance
in further identifying these individuals. A "lookup" for an Obituary on
either Bruce L. or Tessie would be especially helpful, since my residence
in Wisconsin is at such great distance that I do not know when, and if,
I may ever be able to do such research in person. Thank you, John-Mark
