Notes:  In 1835 Alexandre Louis DeBlieux, Sr. He returned to France for a
visit during the reign of Louis Phillipe.

His home was located on Washington St. in Natchitoches, LA., and the home was
later known as the Old Henry Levy Residence.  It had a beautiful winding
stairway and charming woodwork, according to Irma Sompayrac Willard.

She also wrote that Alexandre DeBlieux spent much of his time in new Orleans
and at Camp Salubrity, his summer home.  That was a wooden structure with a
gallery all around.  There were grotto (springs on each side of the hill), one
where he sat in the morning shade and another for the shade of the afternoon. 
there was a rock house on the west side of the valley and as an example of
local motif, a spring-fountain flowing through an Indian head of stone.  Red
rocks made a walk from the house to the Dairy.  The expenditure on the grounds
is said to have been $20,000.00.

In the Memoirs of Northwest Louisiana is the following:  "General U.S. Grant,
who as lieutenant of the 4th U.S. Regiment, was stationed at Camp Solubrity in
1844, was well known here, among his friends being A. deBlieux."

Notes:  During the Civil War Colonel Theodore Johnston organized a militia
regiment in Iberville Parish, LA.  By mid-May 1861, 700 men had their name's
on the regiment's rolls.  among them was Benjamin N. Deblieux, who served as
lieutenant colonel.  He was attorney and Judge, and a plantation owner.  He is
buried in Bay St. Louis, MS., and his wife, Elizabeth, is buried in
Plaquemine, LA.

Notes:  Honore was born in Digne, France, and came to America with his parents
in 1802 when he was three years old  (see notes for Alexandre DeBlieux.)  
They lived in Philadelphia, PA, for five years, an in 1807 were living in
southeast coastal Georgia in Camden County.  From 1809-1811, the family lived
in Washington, Wilkes County, Georgia, and moved to nearby Augusta, Richmond
County, Gerogia.  Honore, his brother, Alexandre Louis, and his father,
Alexandre, moved to Louisiana shortly after his mother's death November 01,
1812.

Honore was an attorney, judge, and plantation owner.
