After marriage, he took hard laborious jobs and share-cropped to provide for the 13 children his wife bore, only to have 7 survive to adulthood. Emily married Sidney MAYEUX, a Catholic convert, who like his mentor, Benoit JOHNSON, also a Catholic convert, became a minister in the Church of Christ. Sidney and his father in-law John W. STEPHENS founded the Glenmora Church of Christ in 1921. STEPHENS had provided a rent house adjacent to the Old Glenmora Cemetery, and later MAYEUX sold and donated 2-3 lots, for the church and parsonage, located where the present-day church stands. Perry was a veteran of WWI and served in France, suffering from Mustard Gas Poisoning the rest of his life. Lura was said to have been the prettiest of the girls and was taken to be with Jesus in all her radiance. Otis contracted disease during an epedemic, which swept through Louisiana. Cecil went to Business School in Lake Charles, Calcasieu Parish, LA and worked at various Automobile dealerships in Oakdale, Allen Parish, LA as an accountant. Eva attended Abilene Christian College in Texas receiving a Teacher's Certificate and Business degree. She worked in the office pool at Fort Polk, Vernon Parish, LA during WWII. Her husband was an entomologist and they lived most of their married life in Texas along the Mexican border, until his health failed him. They returned to LA after Hattie O.
