I am not sure of the parish, but am trying to take a
shot in the dark. I am looking for information on James Crawford (born
late 1700's). Thought to have been killed in the war of 1812. Believed
to have been married to Susannah Spinks, daughter of John and Sarah Baker
Spinks. They had five children. The names of only two or three are know.
Those children are Robert H. Crawford, Rebeccah Crawford Dickens, and perhaps
a James C. Crawford. I have been looking for this information for about
three years now and seem to have hit a roadblock. If you have any information,
I would love to have it. Thanks.

him with wife Cecilia, Children - Celene, Joanne (?), Coralie, Ennias,
Arthur, and Mary, also a daughter age 18 - Basilish Capella. By 1900 census

WALSH: Researching WALSH family of Lafourche, Terrebonne
and Assumption Parishes. US Census show a Michael Walsh as tavern owner
in Thibodeaux in 1850. There was a Thomas (John) Walsh in Houma about the
same time. My Grandfather, Nicholas Walsh, was born in Labadieville in
1874. I have reason to believe that all three Walshs were related, but
unable to prove. I do know that all three came from County Kilkenny in
Ireland and that all three were in Louisiana at the same time. Are there
any Walsh descendants in Lousiana that can help. I live in Southern California,
but I did make a research trip to Thibodeaux and Houma in Nov. 1996.
