Children of the Confederacy®
2006 Convention

Many, many thanks to the adult CofC supporters who not only share their time, energy, money, knowledge & themselves, but also share their pictures taken at convention. Special thanks to Chuck Reed, Nancy West, Terri Reed, Lisa Reed, Carol Willis and Jan Craven for sharing their photos to make our convention website the best ever.

Our convention began with a pre-convention tour of Centenary State Park in Jackson. Everyone boarded "Old Hickory", vintage steam locomotive to tour the grounds with a special narrator aboard to tell us all the information on this historic park as we rode along.

A special stop was made at the Confederate Cemetery and being Confederate Memorial Day, the children placed flags on each of the graves.

Children place flags on each marker.

After placing the flags, Division President Andrew Troquille presented a wreath and a memorial service was conducted.

Division Director, Terri Reed, and the CofC members at the Cemetery.

After train tour, staff members of the park taught CofC members games played during the War years, with everyone getting an opportunity to try them out.

This building was used as a hospital during the War.
A park staff member showed articles used to treat the soldiers.

After a box lunch on the grounds, everyone returned to the hotel in St. Francisville
for the opening of the convention.
