Digital Photo Restoration and Preservation

The Lower Delmarva Genealogical Society is proud to present

Joseph DiCarlo

Mr. DiCarlo will speak on "Digital Photo Restoration and Preservation." Mr. DiCarlo, of DiCarlo Digital Copy Center and Graphic Studio, has handled more photo image capturing and digital preservation and restoration projects than anywhere else in the region. Digitally preserving and restoring historical and family photography is of great importance to the next generation. Many families have already lost troves of photographic material to fires, floods and poor storage. Some photos are salvageable but physical preservation is very costly. Digital preservation is typically a more cost effective way to capture, restore, reproduce, and share photographs. We will discuss everything from image scanning to digitally fixing and restoring images to reproduction and digital dissemination.

This event is open to the public and is free.

  • Announcement
We were informed August 22, 2014 that the genealogy collection of the Wicomico County Library located at the main branch in Salisbury is being given to the Nabb Center at Salisbury University. All that will be retained at the Wicomico Library are duplicates of references owned by the Nabb. Since there is a fee to use the Nabb Collection, there has been some unfinalized discussion as to whether those holding a Wicomico County Library card would be able to access the Nabb Collection for free.
