TRACEY FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHS & PORTRAITS

This is a photograph of Rosanah Simpers (b. 16 Jan 1819 ,d 19 Nov 1911) she was the wife of George Tracey (b. 21 Sept 1816, d. 30 Oct 1855. After George died she married John Griffith. Rosannah was the daughter of Benjamin C. Simpers and Sophia Smith Ensor. Rosannah and George obtained from the estate of her mother the tract of land Adreons Hills and Dales near Blackrock. This tract of land was given to Sophia Smith Ensor by her father, George Ensor. In a large old "bank barn" type structure that was built as an inn, George Tracey operated a store, and the name Tracey's Store Road was applied to the road by their property. This photograph of Rosannah was taken at R. Holyund studios at No 231 West Baltimore Street, Baltimore, MD. The back of the photo was marked Grandmother Tracey, Gady (for short) Rosannah (nee Simpers) Tracey


The Yeoho School

This is a photograph taken sometime in the 1890s of the old Yoeho school. Most of the persons in this photograph are identified.

In the 2nd row (seated) are: Mr. Theodore Craumer (Principal), Effie Ensor, Virginia Akehurst, ALex Cox, Beulah Nash, (6th person unknown), Monita Akehurst, Mary Nash, Elsie Cox, Watson NAsh, Roland Mays, ??? Ryan, Percy Akehurst, Will Cox.
In the 3rd row (standing) are Mrs. Ryan, Mrs. John (Mary) Fowble, Lily Ryan, Bertha Akehurst, Emma Martin, Hattie Skipper, Rex Shipper, Frank Mays, Emory Turnbaugh, Howard Stevenson, Will Mays, George Nash, ??? Skipper, LeGrand Benson, Ernest Ryan, and (16 unknown).
In the 4th row standing at Mrs. Benjamin (Rosie) Nash, Mrs Robert (Augusta) Akehurst, Jessie Tracey, Mrs. Alex (Barbara) Martin, Mrs. George (Katie) Bruehl, Miss Annie Turnbaugh, Rose Tracey, Mamie Benson, Bess Brooks, Willie Nash, Mag Turnbaugh, Mrs. William (Ann) Akehurst, Mrs. Grafton (Sally) Brooks, and Amelia Akehurst.
In the 5throw (standing) are: Mr. Hill, Robert Akehurst, Isaac Turnbaught (trustee), William Henry Tracey (Trustee) and Grafton Brooks (trustee).

Note: Jessie and Rose Tracey were the daughters of William Henry Tracey.
