Descendants of Teague Tracey and Mary James
7 Generations
The following
is a portion of the apparent descendants of Teague
Tracey and Mary James. There eldest son, James is shown by deeds to have moved
to North Carolinia and there is speculation he is the progenitor of a line of
Tracey/Tracys hailing from North Caroline, but this is thus far speculation.
There are a large number of Traceys/Tracys born in the mid 1700s and later that
lived in the area of the Upper Gunpowder River in northwest Baltimore County
that are all believed to be descendants of Teague Tracey. Dr Arthur Tracey in
the 1930s proposed that most of the men born in the mid 1700s that are not of
the line of Tego (Teague Jr) were born of a son of Teague and Mary he thought
was named Basil Tracey. It is thought that this younger son (or perhaps sons)
were born after Teague and Mary moved from Herring Creek Hundred in Anne Arundel
Co., MD to Baltimore Co. It seems that they did have a daughter, Mary, born
after they left Anne Arundel Co., Unfortunately the parish records for St Paul's
Parish of Baltimore Co are non-existent prior to 1717, so there is no way to
prove if they had children after moving to Baltimore County. (The births of their
known children were recorded in the St James Parish register in Anne Arundel
Co., MD).
This compliation of group sheets is a best effort to group the families
from what information has been found and based on infrences and circumstanial
evidence. Separate group sheet compilations are also being provided for various
fragments of the family tree for which ancestry is still unknown | Table of Contents | |
