*(According to folk talk Susana Hetroyda de Alwis lived at Galkissa Walauwa. It is also said that her brother was Abraham de Alwis Wijesinghe Siriwardene. The father of Susana Hetroyda de Alwis (d1901)and Abraham de Alwis Wijesinghe Siriwardene ,may be Don Abraham de Alwis Abeysiriwardene Gunathilake,(Mudaliyar & Asst Interpreter Governors Gate)(m1822,d1858).Don Abraham de Alwis Abeysiriwardene Gunathilake married Dona Florentina de Alwis daughter of Don Adrian de Alwis Gunathilake Samaranayake  d1795(Mudaliyar of Salpita Korale)of Galkissa. Abraham de Alwis Abeysiriwardene Gunathilake , may have built the Galkissa Walauwa, still standing in Mihindu Mawatha Galkissa in 1820.

Louis de Saram Weerasinghe Siriwardene(b1770) may have built the Galkissa Walauwwa in the year 1820,in the land called Liyanaparangiya watte in Mount Lavinia. After his death the property was inherited by his son Leonard de Saram(1814-1880).He married Susana Hetroyda de Alwis (d1901)

And may be Leonard de Saram Mohandiram and Susana Hetroyda de Alwis may have lived there. After the death of Leonard de Saram, properties were inherited by Susana Hetroyda de Alwis.

As they did not have children, they were given to Leonard de Saram’s sister’s daughter, Helena Eliza de Alwis, as a gift. There after Helena Eliza de Alwis (d:1877) gives 50 acres of Mahawellawatte to her son Daniel Albert de Alwis, and 25 acres of Mahawellawatte to her daughter Jane Rajo de Alwis. They both received properties in Galkissa and Mihindu Mawatha, including the Galkissa Walauwa. While staying at Galkissa Walauwa they have supposed to have built the Samudragiri Walauwa in de Saram Road Mt Lavinia, which later became the home of Daniel Albert de Alwis. Galkissa Walauwa became the home of Jane Rajo de Alwis ,who married Thomas Leonard Gunasekera Senewiratne.

Subsequently James (Jimmy)Senewiratne bought all the shares and became the owner of Galkissa Walauwwa.

(Helena Eliza de Alwis’s husband was Abraham de Alwis Wijesinghe Siriwardene.)

(Anthonan de Saram had purchased 250 acres of Mahawellawatte in 1730.Out of which his great grand son Leonard de Saram inherited 75 acres.)

(Don Adrian de Alwis Gunathilake Samaranayake(d5/1/1795) is the son of Daniel de Alwis Gunathilake Samarasinghe  Mudaliyar Salpita Korale (d27/12/1794)and Apolonia Perera Lama Etini whom he married in 1765.It is said that after the death of Adrian de Alwis Gunathilake Samaranayake in 1795,Abraham de Alwis became Mudaliyar in 7/1/1796.He may have been Abraham de Alwis Gunathilake Siriwardene, the father of Abraham de Alwis Abeysiriwardene Gunathilake  who married Florentina de Alwis the daughter of Adrian de Alwis Gunathilake Samaranayake.Abraham de Alwis Gunathilake Siriwardene’s father is Joan de Alwis ,who was a brother of Daniel de Alwis Gunathilake Samarasinghe.)
