THE CENSUS - The Federal Census has been taken every ten years since 1790. Here is a list of volunteers by State and County who are willing to supply you with whatever information they have. The Federal Census is an ideal source of the "Who, When and Where" details of our family as their households grew and they moved from place to place. Be sure to go there and have a look around.


AMES IS THE NAME, by Richard D. Ames of Maryland. Privately printed in 1959. It is primarily the story of the Ames family in Northwestern Ohio. Its three parts are: Part I - The Sons of Nehemiahm 1846-1955, Part II - Jabez and Elizabeth, 1790-1956, Part III - European Background, 1300-1800.
