The Ames Family Mailing List

> > >

Our mailing list is how we keep in touch. It is one of the most important lifelines in our Family's genealogical research. There is no bunch of Rules as to what you can or cannot do. Just use your adult discretion and don't stray too far from the subject of the Ames Family, genealogy and possibly a bit of computer help.

To SUBSCRIBE to "AmesMail", get the Subscription Form
and in the body, write the single word:
subscribe
Add nothing more.

To UNSUBSCRIBE to "AmesMail", get the Subscription Form
but this time in the body of your letter write the single word:
unsubscribe
Add nothing more.

The important part though, is POSTING. When you post a letter, everybody who has subscribed gets a copy at the same time. If your note is strictly personal, it may be better to send it as personal E-mail, but if it has anything to do with the Ames family, let's share it. Surprisingly, a chance remark may open a whole new area for someone on the other side of the country.

There is also a Digest form. You get the same material, but it is saved up and sent to you in batches. Ask if you are interested.

So, AmesMail is where we can ask questions about missing relatives, find links to other Ames-related groups, reunions and activities, refer to other Ames webpages, post queries and discuss all kinds of things related to the Ames Family. Asking for a little computer help is not amiss, but we try to stay on the subject. Poems, recipes, etc. have their own lists - but they are somewhere else. Here we talk about the Ames.

Post your letters to AmesMail.

Notice that this address is slightly different from the subscribing address. But this is the one to use most all of the time. You might like to make a note of it in your address book or bookmark it for future use.

This service is freely provided for us by Rootsweb. This is a Cooperative and we cordially invite you to become a member.

When you would like to research the files or just see what has gone before, then click here to go to the Archives:

And now it's your turn. There's nobody here but us Ames descendants and every tiny piece is important in the puzzle. So let's share our information or questions by sending a little note to the Family. and thanks for participating in the Family discussion.
