ISAAC AMES
Hope there is someone out there that can help me find some info on my great
grandfather, Isaac AMES. Isaac was born in 1865; but where??? Who were
his parents and siblings?? He married Mary WARFEL; daughter of Adam and
Elizabeth (Fry) WARFEL of Conestoga Twp. Isaac and Mary lived in Columbia,
Pa. after their marriage, which I believe took place before 1885 since that
is the year I have for the birth of their first child. Isaac and Mary had
13 children: Annie who married James B. MUMAW, Elizabeth (called Liz),
Christian, Clara, Sarah (my grandmother), Bertha who married Wm. ASHBY,
Emily, Edna who married Wm. DUNCAN, Cyrus, Isaac ( called Ike), Arthur,
Mary and Stella.
Some time after 1910 Isaac and Mary moved to NJ where Isaac died in 1935.
Know this isn't much information to go on but is all I have been able to
find so far. If anyone out there knows anything about Isaac or his parents
and where he was born; please let me know. Thanks From: Shirl, 15 May 1999

BYRON ANDREW JACKSON AMES
Hello everyone! I am new to the list and I am very excited
about the chance to hook up with other AMES researchers. I
have been trying to help my aunt solve a mystery about her
family and I am hoping some of you may be able to help. She
has never known anything about her family beyond her
parents. It seems that her father grew up in the LDS church
but was cut off from the family when he left the church.
They were never spoken of. Not even their names were
shared. I am hoping that you can help locate some
information on.....
Byron Andrew Jackson AMES b. Kingman Co., KS

MARTIN AMES in Adams Co, OH
Am looking for any information on John Jackson Collier, b 29 Sep 1820,
probably in Adams Co, Oh, d 5 Jul 1872, near Cincinnati, Oh. Would like to
find where he and his wife is buried there. He had a illegament child John
Collier b 1842, mother of John was probably an AMES, as we found John in the
census listed as John Ames, then he lived with his grand parents John &
Margaret Burkitt Collier, who lived in Adams Co, Oh, and he changed his
name to Collier. John Jackson married a Jane M Drenan, we know very little
about them. Any information would be greatly apprecaited.
Am also looking for any family of Martin AMES listed in Adams Co, OH, we
think one of his daughters could have been the mother of John Collier.
Thanks very much in advance. From: Donna Collier Dietrich,
