1 - Surnames - An interactive file from Rootsweb that lists the names and addresses of those researching a particular family name. They may not be researching the particular line you want however, so write and ask.
2 - Places - The United States Geological Survey provides an interactive area where you can locate just about any place, town, church, cemetery, school, etc., in the US, whether current or historical. Besides the location, down to very exact map coordinates, it also provides two maps. The first locates the place within the US and the second locates it within its own area. The second map can be slow loading, so be patient.
3 - Census - Here is a list of volunteers who have access to the US Census for various years and in various counties. Not all are available but if they have it, they will look it up for you for free. The census is usually an excellent source of information about who was living in the household: their names, their ages and where they were born. Each 10 years is different with the later reports containing even more information than the earlier ones.
4 - Internet - This is "raw data" that you'll have to dig through to find what you're looking for. Use your "Edit/Find" function at the top of your screen.
5 - GenForum - On the initial page of our website, did you notice the final listing for the GenForum. This often provides helpful leads also.
6 - Relatives - Those who have sent in a query, who have offered information or advice through the Mail List, or who have otherwise expressed an interest in one of the categories listed above, are those most likely to be helpful in your research Here are some others who have expressed a willingness to help:
