Before you Email the County Coordinator!

Chances
are I am not going to be able to personally do your
research. However, if you are looking for someone to do
research for you, please visit the Berkshire
Family History Association. They are great folks and
the membership fee is $12/year. They will give you two
free hours of research at the Berkshire Athenaeum. They
contribute a lot of resources to the Berkshire Athenaeum, and
have authored and indexed many useful books. If you do not
find it on the website, try e-mailing the Berkshire
County Mailing List provided by www.rootsweb.com
If there is someone who knows your answer on this wonderful list
they will help. Finally, if you can afford it, I highly
recommend a subscription to www.ancestry.com.
I have been able to do a lot of my own research in my
p.j.'s. They are also adding the Berkshire Eagle
newspapers with a fully searchable index. This is an
invaluable resource to Berkshire researchers. If there are
special circumstances or you really do not know where to go, I
will try to help you. I wouldn't be where I am in my
research if people hadn't helped me out.
If you
would like to contribute information to this website, please do
so. In the subject line please write Berkshire County:
followed by town: followed by what type of record: followed by
the name of person, year, etc. Example: Berkshire County:
Lanesboro: Will: Stephen Newton: 1873. Or Berkshire
County: Adams: Birth Records: 1865. I am involved in
several volunteer groups and websites. This will help me
catch your e-mail and realize you are not sending me a virus as
an attachment. I delete anything that does not have text
in the body of the e-mail. You will receive credit for
what you have sent in. Volunteers who consistently send
information into the website get recognized on the volunteer
page.
Thank
you! Dawn Quinn
