JOHN ALLEN

Allen, John (1763-1812) — of Connecticut. Born in Great Barrington, Berkshire County, Mass., June 12, 1763. Father of John William Allen. Member of Connecticut state house of representatives, 1793-96; U.S. Representative from Connecticut at-large, 1797-99; justice of Connecticut state supreme court, 1800-06. Died July 31, 1812. Interment at East Cemetery, Litchfield, Conn.
