Baylies, Francis (1783-1852) — of Taunton, Bristol County, Mass. Born in Taunton, Bristol County, Mass., October 16, 1783. Brother of William Baylies. U.S. Representative from Massachusetts, 1821-27 (10th District 1821-25, 12th District 1825-27); member of Massachusetts state house of representatives, 1827; U.S. Charge d'Affaires to Argentina, 1832. Died in Taunton, Bristol County, Mass., October 28, 1852. Interment at Old Plain Cemetery, Taunton, Mass.
