October 27, 1800. Brother of Edward Wade. Republican. Member of Ohio state senate, 1837-38, 1841-42; circuit judge
in Ohio, 1847-51; U.S. Senator from Ohio, 1851-69; candidate for Republican nomination for Vice President, 1868.
Died in Jefferson, Ashtabula County, Ohio, March 2, 1878. Interment at Oakdale Cemetery, Jefferson, Ohio.
