Balcom, George Lewis (1819-1900) — also known as George L. Balcom — of Cavendish, Windsor County, Vt.; Claremont, Sullivan County, N.H. Born in Sudbury, Middlesex County, Mass., October 9, 1819. Republican. Member of Vermont state house of representatives, 1855-57; member of New Hampshire state house of representatives, 1883-84; alternate delegate to Republican National Convention from New Hampshire, 1884; member of New Hampshire state senate 7th District, 1889-90. Episcopalian. Died in Claremont, Sullivan County, N.H., May 13, 1900. Interment somewhere in Philadelphia, Pa.
