Army during World War I; lawyer; member of Maine state house of representatives, 1921-26; Speaker of the Maine State
House of Representatives, 1925-26; Governor of Maine, 1929-33; delegate to Republican National Convention from
Maine, 1932. Episcopalian. Member, Grange; American Legion; Freemasons; Elks. Died August 3, 1953. Interment at
Christ Church Cemetery, Gardiner, Maine.
