Ames, Fisher (1758-1808) — of Massachusetts. Born in Dedham, Norfolk County, Mass., April 9, 1758. Member of Massachusetts state house of representatives, 1788; U.S. Representative from Massachusetts, 1789-97 (1st District 1789-95, 6th District 1795-97); member of Massachusetts Governor's Council, 1798-1800. Died in Dedham, Norfolk County, Mass., July 4, 1808. Interment at Old Village Cemetery, Dedham, Mass.
