of Richard Upton. Republican. Member of New Hampshire state house of representatives, 1911; delegate to New
Hampshire state constitutional convention, 1918; delegate to New Hampshire state constitutional convention, 1930;
delegate to Republican National Convention from New Hampshire, 1936 (alternate), 1940, 1944, 1948, 1956, 1960;
delegate to New Hampshire state constitutional convention, 1938; vice-chair of New Hampshire Republican Party, 1939,
1957; delegate to New Hampshire state constitutional convention from Concord 7th Ward, 1948; U.S. Senator from New
Hampshire, 1953-54. Died in Concord, Merrimack County, N.H., April 28, 1972. Interment at Blossom Hill Cemetery,
Concord, N.H.
