Davoren, John F. X. (1915-1997) — of Massachusetts. Born in Milford, Worcester County, Mass., July 27, 1915. Served in the U.S. Navy during World War II; member of Massachusetts state house of representatives, 1955; Speaker of the Massachusetts State House of Representatives, 1965; secretary of state of Massachusetts, 1967-74. Catholic. Member, American Legion; Disabled American Veterans; Veterans of Foreign Wars; Elks; Knights of Columbus. Died August 24, 1997 in Dennis, Barnstable, Massachusetts.
