The Southern Essex district Registry of Deeds has a very helpful and content rich website. Currently (March 2007), the website offers images of deeds from 1641 to 1709 (Books 1 to 20), and from 1984 to present. The early deeds are not indexed, and they are difficult to read. An index can be purchased through the registry, or, locally, the Lynnfield Library has a copy of the index with citations to book and page numbers. Recent deeds, from 1974 to present, are searchable by date, street, grantee, or grantor on the registry website.
