DEATH OF JOHN J. CASEY

One of our oldest and most highly esteemed Irish residents, died last Sunday morning at from a complication of diseases resultant from old age. While it has been known for some time that the deceased was in failing health, yet the end was almost unexpected in its suddenness. He was possessed of the true Irish spirit of hospitality and joviality which made all with whom he came in contact, respect him for his good nature and free hearted ness. Mr. Casey has reared a large family, most of whom have resided in Spencer since his arrival, until within a few years, when some of them moved to distant parts. A married daughter and son are in Australia, a son daughter, Patrick and Katie, are in Colorado Springs; two sons, James and Thomas, in New York City, and two daughters and son, Bridget, Agnes and Michael, residing at home. The deceased also leaves a widow to mourn the loss of a faithful husband.

The funeral took place last Tuesday morning, the 27th inst. and was attend by many friends from Town and from Worcester, New York, Natick, Concord, N. H., Providence and other places.
