Meet Dr. Joseph Warren
Dr. Joseph Warren was the man who made the decisions that started the American Revolution. He created an elaborate intelligence network to gather information on the movements of British troops that insured that the colonists would be prepared as war became inevitable. His informants reached all the way from mere apprentices up to the highest circles in General Gage's headquarters.
Before Lexington and Concord in April of 1775, Warren was an active member of the Patriot movement from the very beginning. From the Stamp Act crisis, to the Boson Massacre, to the Boston Tea Party, Joseph Warren led the way down the path to independence. His leadership in organizations such as the North End Caucus, Sons of Liberty, and St. Andrew's Lodge of Freemasons united many diverse groups to the cause.
His eloquent oratory and flowing prose inspired many colonists. If not for his untimely death at the Battle of Bunker Hill, he would have gone on to even further fame.
Meet the man who sent Paul Revere on his famous ride, fought in the first battles of the war, and organized the resistance to the greatest empire in the world.
