The Arlington Advocate, 10 May 1873

While two children of Timothy Mahoney, who lives on the Acre, were playing together Tuesday evening, a pistol in the hands of the elder one was discharged and the ball lodged in the shoulder of the other. The two youngsters agreed between themselves to say nothing about the matter, and went home and to bed. In the night, Mr. M., being aroused by the groans of the little sufferer went to his bed and found him bleeding quite freely. He was taken to a physician, but the ball had not been found at last accounts. In the meantime the little fellow bears himself bravely.
