Wednesday evening, October 19th was annual inspection of W. R. C. 62. Mrs. Fannie Parker President, and Mrs. Carrie S. L. Bagley of Fitchburg, inspecting officer. The work of the Corps elicited much praise from her,—after inspection the comrades and Sons of Veterans were admitted and the occasion made enjoyable by speeches from comrades who went to Washington. Allen Whitcomb made a short speech and Comrade T. R. Knowlton gave a touching account of a battle in which he was engaged, the scene of which he recently visited. Mrs. Handley and Mrs. Hosmer of Littleton, ladies who were of the excursion party to Washington made interesting remarks. A fine collation was served. This Corps which was instituted six years ago, has steadily increased in numbers until it has reached very nearly one hundred.
The annual Harvest concert at the Universalist church Sunday evening, Oct. 16. was well attended and very interesting.
