The Arlington Advocate, 25 January 1902

Thursday evening about 7.30 o'clock, a horse attached to a democrat wagon¹ driven by Michael Lane of North Union street, and a companion, made things lively in the centre for a time, and frightened pedestrians who happened to be in the runaways path. The animal became unmanageable in front of the Arlington House and ran up the avenue until he came to Pleasant street, where he turned in, going down Swan street and into the yard of Mr. S. A. Fowle's house on this street, where he was brought up against a fence. The occupants were considerably frightened but escaped without injury. The team was, however, somewhat damaged.
